Todd Naber is the owner and operator of Naber Specialty Grains, a wholesale grain dealer located in Melfort, Saskatchewan. Naber Specialty Grains is licensed and bonded by the Canadian Grain Commission.
Todd Naber and Naber Specialty Grains buys and processes a variety of grains, including lentils, peas, canary seed, canola, flax seed and oat products. The cropland of Saskatchewan, where most of the grains Todd Naber buys are produced, is divided into four areas. Crop yields can vary from area to area. Melfort is situated in Area 3.
As Todd Naber knows, the production and export of natural resources and their refined products is the backbone of the Saskatchewan economy. About ninety-five percent of all goods produced in Saskatchewan depend directly on its basic resources, such as grains, livestock, oil and gas, potash, uranium and wood, and their refined products.
The trade of grain, as Todd Naber knows from his years of experience, is nearly as old as the cultivation of grain. It has been traced back as far as 9000 B.C. Since the Second World War, the trend in North America has been toward further consolidation of already vast farms.
Todd Naber is proud to say that he lives and works in the heart of some of the world’s most productive farmland. Naber Specialty Grains is a world-class processing facility. Todd Naber is a member of the Melfort Chamber of Commerce, and is licensed and bonded by the Canadian Grain Commission. The Canadian Grain Commission is a Canadian government department responsible for regulation of the grain handling industry.
